Any rubber item is now at least 30 years old( probably more like 40 years). While this is a nice, fairly solid example of the iconic 1st Generation 1959 Chevrolet El Camino, it isn't perfect. The floors are solid having been replaced at some time in the past with superficial rust present on most components and some existing rust present in some of the under body components(see all 100+ pics). Underside photos reveal the fairly original chassis with the long tube headers visible along with a set of air shocks in the rear. Under hood shots show the attention to detail that was instilled in this car decades ago and reflected through the under hood mirrors. Interior pics reveal a nice, clean arrangement with a custom, period correct, 2-tone interior that shows well with a floor mounted Hurst shifter and a clean, solid, dash arrangement. The body is solid with a beautiful sterling silver base/clear coat paint job shown off by outstanding trim and chrome.
Power steering and cross/drilled/slotted front rotors give extra stopping power to the power brakes. The motor was upgraded with expensive Sanderson headers, aluminum dual exhaust, aluminum intake, 4 barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, and billet dress up kit. The extra gear is a welcome addition along with the smoother shifting action. The tired 283 was replaced with a new GM 350 V-8 crate motor rated at 290 horsepower and the Power-glide transmission was exchanged for a totally rebuilt Turbo 350 V-8.
